Sander: Random-orbit sanders (electricand pneumatic) Purpose: High-speed finish-sanding without swirl marks. Applications: Flattening joints while leaving a smooth surface. Special pad available for contours. Suggested Abrasives: 80- to 320-grit paper and adhesive-backed aluminum oxide and silicon carbide.

Sander: Straightline sanders (electric and pneumatic) Purpose: Sands with the grain. Applications: Flattening high-low areas. Lowering joints and edges to a uniform height. Suggested Abrasives: 80- to 320-grit cloth-backed aluminum oxide and silicon carbide.

Sander: Flexible disc sander Purpose: Rapid stock removal on irregular surfaces. Applications: Shaping, smoothing, and polishing small stock. Power-sanding bowls when chucked in a portable drill with lathe running. Various sizes available from 1-6". Suggested Abrasives: 36- to 400-gript cloth-, paper-, and adhesive-backed aluminum oxide and silicon carbide.
