Try jumper-wire clips for small clamping jobs

The next time you need small clamps, try filing off the teeth of some jumper-wire clips used by electricians. (You'll find these clips in the electrical-supply section at most hardware stores.) The clips exert a lot of pressure, and their jaws open up to about 3/4".

Kind of expensive way to make a clamp if you have to go to the store to purchase new clamps then take them home & grind them. I suspect it quite a challenge to grind the teeth off while trying to keep the clamp open. Instead of going to the electrical dept., why not just go to the general tools dept. at places like Harbor Freight, Home Depot, Lowe's & purchase clamps that will do the job for a lot less & no grinding required.
