Bag the putty for neater results

Mixing water putty and similar products poses a couple of problems: What do you mix it in, and how do you stir it thoroughly without spilling it all over? Grab a resealable sandwich bag the next time you mix putty. Measure out the powder, pour it into the bag, and add the water. Then, seal the bag and knead it to mix without making a mess. To apply, snip off a corner of the bag and squeeze out the putty.

I agree with using freezer bags. I had a table ready to paint and a cheep bag busted with putty and landed on a table I had spent 3 days hand sanding for a mirrow finish, with a carved design in the center. Of course the putty had to land in the carved design. I learmed the hard way.

Good idea but better yet get a "freezer" grade resealable sandwich sized bag.(Hefty brand's the best zipper.) They seem to be thicker walled & less likely to puncture than the cheapo thin sandwich bags when kneading it. (Don't ask me how I know....)
