Gimmee-a-break! It's what happens when you work with wood forgawdssake! Why all the fuss - who wants a"pristine shop" anyway? It sounds like a lot of people have been taken in. Having sawdust and shavings around is all part of the process - it's what happens with woodworking. A half hour at the end of the day to tidy up - an hour on Fridays... that's the way we've always worked... for generations. Amateurs !!! Pathetic !!!

8/16/2012 03:25:38 PM Report Abuse@mirser I built a small 4x6'shed right outside my shop for both my dust collector, air compressor, and some often used gardening items hoses etc. Dampen the sound by using foam board as baffles to allow good airflow to prevent overheating. Think of it like placing your equipment INSIDE a muffler. The ducting goes through the walls and into the shop, using a rubber doughnut I made from silicone to act as both a seal and vibration dampener. Living in LA no neighbor has ever complained.

10/28/2010 09:52:22 PM Report AbuseResponse to R.battaglia and gary26: When I installed the dust collection in my shop, I still had to move the various machines around due to space-conservation. Solution to enable dust-collection was to have some utility hoses that connected to the various machines. Result was some extra hoses lying around, invariably underfoot. This idea with modifications is a good way to get them coiled, up and out of the way. Good safety measure, and adaptable(as noted) to other situations as well.
