The magnetic bar across the top of this rack secures chisels and gauges vertically, while an added base beneath heavier chisels and turning tools supports the handles. The arrangement keeps all the sharp cutting edges in the same part of the rack. Made from standard dimensional lumber with a 1/2"-thick plywood back, adjust the overall size of the unit as well as the length and placement of the individual holders to suit your needs.

The magnetic strip looks neat and I had used one for my turning chisels. However the magnetic bar magnetized my chisels and created problems sliding across the tool rest. I would not recommend this system.
