Shaker Trestle Table Woodworking Plan
Adapted from an early Shaker-design, this handsome piece looks equally at home in both contemporary and country decors.
With the popularity of kitchen islands, peninsulas, and breakfast tables in mind, we designed this multipurpose project. You can use it for morning coffee, meals, or anything you like. At 36" tall, the table's just right for standard 24" stools. And the 40"-long tabletop allows plenty of room for one person on each side.
Steps in this wood plan include:
1. Start with a pair of arched feet
2. Next, add a pair of tapered uprights and leg caps
3. Connect the leg assemblies with a stretcher
4. Edge-join pieces for a solid-stock top
