I made this to hold a 4 LB brass bell. It's just for show but they work!
I use somne salvaged Douglas Fir from an old house door. The finish is Lacquer.

What a fine looking project, This thing looks as if it could support a bell weighing 104 pounds, yet still maintains it's dignity as a delicate piece of work, awsome, and impressive, the jointery looks as if it could stand the test of time.
