In the July 2011, issue of Wood Magazine, I opted to use pine for the framework due to HomeDepot not carrying cedar dimensional lumber and then used cedar for the seat slats. Finsh is Minwax English OAK with three coats of SPAR urethane. One problem, the backets listed from Rockler were so back ordered from this issue that I had to find them elsewhere.. Also cheaper at Lee Valley/Veritas and they were less expensive than Rockler as well.
