If Victorian furniture is your favorite style, you cannot go wrong with this small tilt top table. I copied the design off an antique I restored about 20 or so years ago. Since then I have made several of these as wedding gifts. We will be using cherry and the pedestal is glued up from smaller boards, selected to look like one thick piece. The three legs dovetail into the pedestal. The hinge for the tilt action is all wood, just like the original. A banjo catch fixes the top when in use. You will learn spindle turning, sliding dovetail joinery, wooden hinge making, and how to make a perfect circle among many other things. A small project packed with learning options.
