4 Blade Guard

Centered in the middle of our shop is a 10'' tablesaw with a custom base (1), outfeed table and extension table (2) that doubles as a sanding table. Holes in the top of the extension/sanding table lead to an air-tight collection box fitted with a 4" dust-collection port. In addition, the tablesaw cabinet as well as the jointer cabinet (3) sit in our mobile tool bases (5). For small cleanup jobs, a portable shop vacuum fits nicely under the sanding-table extension. The tablesaw cabinet, outfeed table, and sanding extension table all appeared in issue 106, June 1998 of WOOD. The blade guard with vacuum attachment appeared in issue 107, August 1998. This one project was responsible forgetting me wholly involved into woodworking. These are the best ever, in fact this whole Idea Shop 3 series is absolutely the best. I still build these every time I add a somewhat stationary tool to my shop.
