Arts and Crafts Inspiration
John enjoys designing and creating piece that are Arts & Crafts and Greene and Greene inspired. He is challenged by designing projects that their company can sell to galleries known for top-quality workmanship while keeping their extensive line of clocks and other work affordable.
Oh, about those stair treads-John and Mark's father got out of the home-construction business and joined his sons in their woodworking company, appropriately named "Schlabaugh & Sons Woodworking." Emil, 80, still comes to the shop everyday, unless he's golfing. His solid woodworking knowledge is the rock on which the business was founded.
View Schlabaugh and Sons Woodworking site for more of their handcrafted projects. Over the years Mark and John have designed several projects for WOOD magazine, including an Arts and Crafts Mantle Clock and Tile-Topped Keepsake Box.
